International Amateur Morin Khuur Competition
The purpose of this morin khuur competition is to showcase the participants‘ skills who study the morin khuur, encourage them to continue their morin khuur journey, and promote morin khuur and Mongolian culture internationally.
The competition is for amateur morin khuur players only. Therefore, it is open to anyone who is learning or studying the instrument except professional morin khuur players, or any music school students who are majoring in it.
The competition will take place in the following age groups with 2 stages each:
1st Round (first day):
2nd Round (second day):
Choose a song from the three listed below. Your choice will be accompanied with the piano.

- Kids (Up to 13 years or younger)
- Teens (From 13 up to 18 years old)
- Adults (18 years or older)

- A piece of your choice (solo or with piano accompaniment)
- A folk song or long song, or tatlaga
2nd Round (second day):
Choose a song from the three listed below. Your choice will be accompanied with the piano.

The organizers will provide an opportunity to participate with a pianist during the competition. The participants can also perform with their own pianist as well.
Participants must complete the registration form down below by May 1st, 2022.
The jury is composed of professional musicians and judging criteria will be based on the participants' skill only, regardless of how long the participants have been learning the morin khuur.
There will be a prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group. Plus three additional prizes:
The organizers will provide an opportunity to participate with a pianist during the competition. The participants can also perform with their own pianist as well.
